Submerged arc welding processes
SDMS masters all the welding processes (submerged arc, TIG, MIG, plasma, Electron Beam,
vacuum brazing, etc.) as heterogeneous welding.
Submerged arc welding and copper alloy
Vacuum and ultrahigh vacuum vessels
can be made of copper or copper alloy using
EB welding, with minimum deformation
after welding, and thus comply with strict dimensional tolerances.
Most copper grades can be welded using electron beam, with priority
however to deoxidised grades (OFHC) and technical alloys (glidcop , some
bronzes, etc.).
For heterogeneous welding, the following welds can be made:
- Copper / Nickel (or alloy) in all proportions
- Copper / Steel
- Copper / Stainless steel
- Copper / Gold Copper / Manganese (or alloy)
- Copper / Platinum
Submerged arc welding the shapes of the weld beads obtained, characteristic
of EB welding, reveal a very narrow melted area and thus a very small weld shrinkage.
