Copper and glidcop welding
SDMS skill is the documented manufacturing, in clean workshops, of complex
parts made of special metals as copper and clidcop welding for customers
with a high technological profile.
Vacuum vessels made of copper or glidcop
Copper and glidcop welding : vacuum and ultrahigh vacuum vessels can
be made of copper or glidcop using EB welding, with minimum deformation
after welding, and thus comply with strict dimensional tolerances.
Another pseudo-alloy: glidcop is a registered trademark of SCM Metal
Products: this is copper reinforced by dispersion of aluminium oxide, in
actual fact a copper composite with a metal structure containing a dispersion
of ultrafine aluminium oxide particles used for high temperature applications.
Most copper grades can be welded using electron beam, with priority
however to deoxidised grades (OFHC) and technical alloys (glidcop , some
bronzes, etc.).
