Outgassing presents problems for vacuum vessel users irrespective of the industry and the activity performed.
In pratice this phenomenon leads to compensating its existence by a pumping overcapacity which can evolve in factors 2 to 100. However, although this is an advantage for pump manufacturers, it remains a major financial drawback for vacuum operators. The aim is thus to acquire better knowledge of the processes for reducing outgassing, take note of the reults and assess the costs involved. |
